We are looking for an experienced Senior Technology Engineer – Compute (Linux) to take full ownership of designing, automating, and scaling Linux-based compute environments across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the end-to-end engineering of compute infrastructure focused on Linux systems (RHEL / Ubuntu)
- Define, build, and maintain a standardised technology stack across multiple data centres
- Own the product lifecycle : design, develop, implement, automate, and continuously improve
- Create Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins
- Develop zero-touch deployment models and drive towards operational excellence
- Work in Agile sprints and maintain a clear product backlog for infrastructure deliverables
- Collaborate with Architects, Application, Security, and Risk teams to ensure integrated and compliant solutions
- Conduct performance reviews, ensure compliance with benchmarks (e.g. CIS), and reduce TCO by optimising existing tools and processes
- Contribute to and leverage open-source technologies while maintaining enterprise-grade interoperability
- Act as a key technical reference for problem-solving, performance tuning, and incident analysis
Core Technical Skills Required :
Deep knowledge of Linux internals (RHEL / Ubuntu) – must-haveStrong scripting skills in Bash, Python, and Groovy (Jenkinsfiles)Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools – Ansible, TerraformExperience with DevOps / SRE principles and CI / CD pipelinesSolid understanding of virtualisation (KVM, oVirt, OpenStack), containers (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)Familiarity with artifact and repository management tools like Red Hat Satellite, Spacewalk, NexusUnderstanding of logging & monitoring tools, especially ELK stack (Auditbeat, Filebeat)Knowledge of security protocols, certificates , SSL / TLS handshakes, Active Directory, Vault tools (CyberArk / HashiCorp)Conceptual grasp of infrastructure components : DNS, Load Balancers, FirewallsFamiliarity with GitOps , Agile methodology, sprint planning, and DevSecOps practicesStrategic thinking and ability to conduct R&D on infrastructure efficiency and innovationQualifications :
