Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
- Perform refraction (manual and autorefractor), visual acuity testing, and binocular vision assessment
- Conduct diagnostic tests including : OCT (macula / disc / RNFL) , Visual Fields ,A-Scan / B-Scan, Keratometry, Pachymetry, Corneal Topography, Fundus Photography, Tonometry
- Perform and interpret IOL biometry, assist with toric axis alignment
- Document and update patient records on EMR software
- Support post-op care : Day 1 check-up, visual outcomes monitoring.
- May occasionally be required to report on Sundays for eye camps. Compensation or compensatory leave will be provided accordingly.
Counseling Responsibilities
Counsel patients and families on : Cataract surgery options , LASIK / ICL procedures, Post-operative precautions and expectationsExplain insurance coverage, payment options, and surgery packagesOptical Store Management
Manage the optical dispensing section : Verify prescriptions and recommend suitable lenses , Advise patients on lens materials, coatings, and frame selection, Coordinate ordering, stock keeping, and follow-up for spectacles, Maintain price lists and vendor records, Ensure accurate lens delivery timelines and customer satisfactionSupervise optical sales, troubleshoot vision complaints, and ensure repeat complianceKeep daily records of optical sales, adjustments, and patient ordersQualifications
Bachelor's or Master's in Optometry (B.Optom / M.Optom)Minimum 1–3 years experience in clinical optometry (ophthalmic setup preferred)Prior experience or interest in managing optical sales and dispensingFamiliarity with diagnostic equipment and EMR softwareExcellent communication in Kannada, Hindi, and EnglishPatient-friendly, confident, and organized
