Software Engineer - AI

Job Purpose

This role is responsible for building AI centric solutions within Cendyn; helping to build and deploy intelligent features across Cendyn's hospitality technology products. You'll work across our polyglot stack (.NET, Node.js, Python) to integrate LLMs, build RAG systems, and develop AI-powered APIs. We're looking for someone hungry to learn, eager to dive into new technologies, and excited about the opportunity to grow their AI engineering skills while contributing to real production systems. You'll collaborate closely with senior engineers while taking ownership of meaningful work from day one.

Job Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Collaborate with senior engineers to implement AI features using LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI) integrated into Cendyn products
• Help build and maintain RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems using vector databases
• Develop prompt engineering strategies and contribute to evaluation frameworks for AI output quality
• Build user interfaces using modern frameworks (React, Vue.js, Angular) that surface AI capabilities through intuitive experiences
• Develop backend services across our technology stack (.NET/C#, Node.js, Python) implementing AI orchestration workflows
• Write clean, testable, maintainable code following development standards across all layers of the application stack
• Contribute to data pipelines that prepare and serve data to AI systems
• Help configure cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) for AI workloads with guidance from senior team members
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for AI-powered applications using containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and continuous improvement of development processes
• Stay current with AI/ML technologies and frameworks, bringing new ideas to the team
• Document AI patterns and learnings to share knowledge with teammates
• Follow and help improve software development standards and best practices
• Troubleshoot issues and help implement fixes across the full application stack
• Participate in on-call rotation with support from senior engineers
  
  

Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 1-3 years professional software development experience (internships and personal projects count)
• Familiarity with at least one of: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#/.NET with willingness to learn others. Bonus points for experience with: LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic), vector databases, modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue.js, Angular)
• Exposure to AI/ML concepts or LLM APIs (personal projects, coursework, or professional experience all count)
• Comfort working in Agile (Scrum) environments
• Understanding of RESTful API design and database basics (SQL and/or NoSQL)
• Familiarity with Git and basic branching/merging practices
• Awareness of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker) is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and genuine curiosity about how things work
• Good communication skills with ability to ask clarifying questions and explain your work

Work Timings

Monday through Friday from 12 PM to 9 PM IST to provide healthy overlap between India team and US team and supporting both to ensure adequate collaboration. This role will be working in Hybrid Mode and will require at least 2 days' work from office at Hyderabad. Occasional evening and weekend work may be expected in case of job-related emergencies or client needs.
