Department : Technology / Financial Systems Development

Reports To : Technical Architect

About the Role :

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Java Developer with at least 7 years of core Java development experience, ideally in financial services, banking, or fintech domains. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and building secure, high-performance, low-latency financial applications. This is a hands-on development role that requires strong technical expertise and an understanding of financial business processes.

Key Responsibilities :

Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications used in financial services (e.g., trading systems)

Work closely with business analysts, product owners, and QA to gather and refine requirements.

Implement secure, fault-tolerant, and scalable software solutions.

Ensure high performance and low latency of systems with large transaction volumes.

Integrate with third-party APIs, financial data providers, and internal microservices.

Perform code reviews, mentor junior developers, and enforce clean coding standards.

Maintain documentation and contribute to continuous process improvement.

Must-Have Qualifications :

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 7 years of experience in Java SE / EE development.

Strong experience with :

Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security)

RESTful APIs and Microservices

Multithreading and Concurrency

JPA / Hibernate, JDBC

SQL and Relational Databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL)

Hands-on experience with financial systems such as :

Payment processing

Trading platforms

Accounting systems

Risk and compliance platforms

Familiarity with :

message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.

Familiarity with reactive programming

Exposure to Spring Batch or other scheduling frameworks

Experience working with secure coding practices

Good knowledge of unit testing and test-driven development

Preferred Skills & Domain Knowledge :

Understanding of financial instruments (equities, derivatives, bonds, etc.).

Experience with FIX protocol or other financial messaging protocols is a plus

Soft Skills :

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

High attention to detail, especially in data handling and security.

Effective communication and documentation abilities.

Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.

Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies.
