Role & responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance and Change Management :
- Support in Identifying and implementation of regulatory change (covering policy / process / system adaption)
- Assist in collation and validation of data / information (sought by regulators pre, during and / or post Regulatory inspection)
- Support the identification and remediation for gaps / improvement areas identified during Inspection as well as Compliance Testing
- Act as point of contact for escalations, controls, key process and risk indicators in supporting the Risk departments regulatory governance and compliance agenda
- Contribute in evaluation of adequacy and effectiveness of regulatory reporting policies, processes and controls and develop and manage effective change management process
Regulatory Reporting Oversight and Management :
Manage end-to-end submission of regulatory reports / returns under ownership of Risk Department to ensure that all regulatory reporting obligations are fulfilled, gaps and issues are highlighted with analysis and appropriate remediation implementedSupport risk reporting related transformation projects including project management tasks, including development of project charters, project plans, and status updates reports as well as overall project monitoring.Work closely with regulatory compliance teams to understand and document Risk departments regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring that such requirements are actioned with relevant business, data and engineering teams.Support in implementation and maintenance of end-to-end processes around report creation and delivery, and support in documentation of regulatory reporting requirement controls, ensuring they are auditable For more details, do visit www.smfgindiacredit.comCollaborate with data teams to ensure that the required data inputs for all reports are correct and that the underlying logic generating all reports in up to date and operating effectivelyHelp maintain data quality control processes to ensure regulatory reports are accurate, meet the documented requirements and are signed off with appropriate maker- checker controlsAssist with implementation of systems necessary to create efficiencies in the regulatory reporting process, working closely with teams such as compliance, finance, data engineering et alMaintain scalable mechanisms and controls for tracking regulatory reporting compliance in line with best in-class industry practiceContribute towards production of periodic regulatory reporting program health reports for Senior management, including trend analysis and recommended strategies; Analyse and explain the causes for major movements in trendsPreferred candidate profile
Experience Required (In Years), Technical skills and Soft skills
Minimum 4+ years of relevant regulatory assurance and regulatory reporting experience in risk governance / CRO office / compliance teams in leading banks / NBFCs in IndiaIn-depth knowledge and understanding of retail lending industry and regulatory compliance obligations for banks / NBFCs in IndiaExperience of working on delivery of ongoing Regulatory Reporting projects / programs in retail lending financial services will be an absolute plusProblem solving abilities, attention to detail, strong analytics skills and auditing skills with a zeal to dabble with multiple data sources and multiple stakeholdersAbility to work efficiently and independently in a fast paced, agile environment in multiple stakeholder settingsContinuous learning mindset and strong communication skillQualification Required
Masters degree in Analytics, Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.Professional qualifications such as FRM, CA, CFA are highly desirableSkills Required
