Job descriptionOversee the development and implementation of innovative academic programs that reflect emerging trends and societal needs. Champion a culture of academic excellence, integrity, and inclusivity across all schools and departments. Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance frameworks. Research Excellence Secure funding from government, industry, and international sources to support research infrastructure, projects, and innovation hubs. Foster an environment that encourages faculty and students to publish in top-tier journals and contribute to global knowledge creation. Establish research partnerships with leading institutions and organizations to address pressing regional and global challenges. Innovative Teaching Methodologies Encourage the integration of emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, and entrepreneurship into teaching practices. Support the development of flexible learning platforms (e.g., online and hybrid models) to enhance accessibility and student engagement. Faculty Development Implement faculty development programs focused on teaching innovation, research productivity, and leadership skills. Recognize and reward faculty excellence through awards, promotions, and opportunities for national and international engagement. Ensure a supportive environment that enables faculty to thrive academically and professionally. Collaboration with Stakeholders Collaborate with internal stakeholders (faculty, students and staff) to align institutional priorities with community needs and aspirations. Engage with accrediting bodies, funding agencies, and policymakers to secure support and maintain compliance with educational standards. Represent the university at high-profile events, conferences, and forums to strengthen its brand and influence in the global academic landscape. Institutional Management and Growth Lead fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation and grant applications, to secure financial sustainability and growth. Implement policies and practices that promote operational efficiency, transparency, and accountability across the institution. Educational Background : A distinguished record of academic achievement, including significant contributions to teaching, research, and scholarly publications. Experience : Proven success in academic administration, strategic planning, and institutional development at a university or comparable organization. Demonstrated expertise in securing substantial funding and fostering a research-intensive environment. Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including boards, faculty, students, and external partners, in a complex academic setting. Certifications (Preferred) : Visionary Leadership : Ability to articulate and execute a bold, forward-thinking vision for the university s future. Academic and Research Acumen : Deep understanding of higher education trends, research ecosystems, and scholarly excellence. Innovative Mind-set : Passion for leveraging technology and modern methodologies to transform teaching, learning, and research. Stakeholder Engagement : Exceptional interpersonal and diplomatic skills to build trust and collaboration with diverse constituencies. Strategic Planning : Expertise in developing and implementing long-term strategies that drive institutional growth and impact. Communication : Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to inspire and influence a wide range of audiences. Financial Acumen : Proficiency in managing budgets, fundraising, and resource allocation to achieve institutional objectives. Job Overview
Galgotias University seeks an exceptional and visionary leader to serve as Vice Chancellor, the chief academic and administrative officer of the institution. The Vice Chancellor will provide strategic direction, champion academic excellence, and elevate the university s standing as a premier centre for education, research, and innovation. This role demands a transformative leader with a proven record of academic leadership, a commitment to research excellence, and the ability to foster innovative teaching methodologies, faculty development, and robust collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
The Vice Chancellor will oversee all university operations, including academic programs, research initiatives, faculty and student affairs, and institutional growth. The successful candidate will inspire the university community, secure resources for advancement, and position Galgotias University as a globally recognized institution dedicated to shaping future leaders and addressing societal challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Academic Leadership
Provide visionary leadership to shape the university s academic mission, ensuring alignment with global standards and the institution s strategic goals.
Drive a robust research agenda by promoting interdisciplinary, high-impact research initiatives that enhance the university s reputation.
Promote the adoption of cutting-edge pedagogical approaches, including technology-enhanced learning, experiential education, and outcome-based curricula.
Identify, retain, and mentor a diverse and accomplished faculty, fostering a culture of professional growth and collaboration.
Build strategic alliances with industry, government, alumni, and international academic institutions to enhance resources, opportunities, and visibility.
Oversee the university s budget, resource allocation, and infrastructure development to support academic and research goals.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. from a recognized institution in a relevant academic discipline.
Minimum of 15-20 years of progressive experience in higher education, with at least 7-10 years in senior leadership roles (e.g., Vice Chancellor, Provost, Dean, or equivalent).
Additional credentials in leadership, management, or higher education administration (e.g., from globally recognized programs) will be an advantage.
