Job Summary :
The Quality Incharge will be responsible for ensuring that the Ready-Mix Concrete produced at the plant meets the required quality standards, specifications, and customer expectations. This role involves conducting routine tests, monitoring batching operations, maintaining quality documentation, and coordinating with plant, procurement, and site teams to ensure consistent quality and compliance with relevant IS codes.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Raw Material Quality Control
Inspect and test incoming raw materials (cement, aggregates, sand, admixtures, water) as per IS specifications.
Maintain supplier quality records and coordinate with vendors for material compliance.
Periodically review material test certificates and ensure traceability.
2. Concrete Production Quality Assurance
Monitor batching operations to ensure accurate mix proportions.
Verify mix designs and adjust parameters based on site feedback and performance.
Conduct slump tests, temperature checks, and other field tests before dispatch.
3. Laboratory Testing & Documentation
Perform routine laboratory tests on concrete cubes, aggregates, and cement.
Maintain calibration records of lab equipment.
Prepare test reports and maintain documentation as per ISO / QMS or plant standards.
4. Site Coordination & Customer Support
Visit customer sites for sampling, testing, and addressing quality concerns.
Resolve customer complaints related to workability, strength, or setting time.
Provide technical guidance to clients and site engineers.
5. Compliance & Standards
Ensure adherence to IS 456, IS 383, IS 4926, IS 10262, and other relevant codes.
Support internal and external audits and ensure quality system compliance.
Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as required.
6. Continuous Improvement-
Suggest improvements in raw material sourcing, plant operations, and testing procedures.
7. Monitor cube test results and analyze trends for consistency.
8. Work closely with plant managers to reduce rejections, returns, and wastage.
Qualifications & Experience :
Education : Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or related field.
Experience : 3–7 years (or more) in Quality Control at an RMC plant or concrete testing laboratory.
Technical Knowledge :
Strong understanding of concrete technology.
Knowledge of mix design and IS code requirements.
Familiarity with batching plant operations and lab equipment.
Salary Range Up to : 40,000 to 90,000 Monthly.
