R&D Executive

Key Responsibilities :

• Understand the project requirements and deliverables as outlined by the supervisor / manager
• Conduct literature searches using tools such as SciFinder, Reaxys, and other scientific search engines
• Comprehend and discuss MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) with supervisor and team members
• Identify and mitigate potential safety risks with the guidance of the Manager
• Plan, set up, monitor, and work up chemical reactions independently
• Monitor reaction progress using standard analytical techniques such as TLC, GC, HPLC, LCMS, etc.
• Isolate products and optimize reaction conditions to improve yield and efficiency
• Purify compounds using methods like chromatography, distillation, and crystallization
• Perform characterization and identification of compounds using UV, IR, NMR, LCMS, GCMS, etc.
• Ensure parallel execution of multiple reactions, conducted both individually and with the team
• Assist in the scale-up of R&D-developed products to kilogram scale and support technology transfer to the pilot plant
• Troubleshoot reactions or processes when needed and inform the supervisor of any deviations
• Discuss research findings and daily work plans with supervisor / manager
• Mentor and support junior lab personnel
• Accurately document reactions, findings, and observations in lab notebooks to ensure data integrity
• Participate in project meetings and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for submission to the manager
• Write regular project updates, final reports, PDR (Process Development Reports), and manage inter-departmental communications
