Job Description

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving the company’s financial strategy, governance, and regulatory compliance. The role demands expertise in financial planning and analysis, capital structuring, risk management, and deep familiarity with the regulatory framework governing the Indian insurance sector, particularly insurance broking. The CFO will work closely with the CEO and Board to support strategic growth initiatives and ensure strong financial health.

The company is a profitable B2B2C Insurtech with a proven track record of operational excellence and a diversified product suite. With an approximate annual turnover of ₹400 crore, the company is backed by a seasoned management team and has ambitious plans to triple its topline within the next three years. Operating in the insurance broking space, the company combines technology with advisory-led solutions to serve both retail and institutional clients across multiple lines of business.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to support rapid and sustainable growth.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with IRDAI and Companies Act regulations.
  • Strengthen internal financial controls, MIS reporting, and statutory audit processes.
  • Manage direct and indirect taxation, treasury operations, and working capital optimization.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors, regulators, banks, and investors.
  • Drive cost-efficiency initiatives and margin optimization across business verticals.
  • Support fundraising, investor relations, and M&A due diligence where applicable.
  • Act as a strategic advisor on commercial decision-making, partnerships, and digital investments.

Requirements

Key Requirements :

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) with 15–20 years of progressive experience in finance and accounts.
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior finance leadership role within the insurance broking or insurance / insurtech industry.
  • Strong understanding of IRDAI regulations, insurance accounting, and broking operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead finance functions in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments.
  • Experience in scaling financial systems, digital transformation, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, analytical, and communication skills.
