Job description

You will play a crucial role in establishing and expanding our retail network in India. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and engage with retailers who are interested in stocking and selling Somersault products in their stores.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with retailers, distributor, negotiating favourable terms, and ensuring consistent sales growth in the modern trade sector.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to expand the retail network of Somersault in India's modern trade sector.
  • Identify potential retailers, specifically focusing on kids wear stores, department stores, and hypermarkets, and build strong partnerships with them.
  • Conduct market research to understand the competitive landscape, market trends, and customer preferences in the kids wear segment.
  • Present Somersault's product offerings, unique selling points, and brand value proposition to retailers, highlighting the benefits of partnering with us.
  • Negotiate favourable terms and conditions with retailers, including pricing, promotions, and product placement, while ensuring alignment with company policies and objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales, marketing, and product development, to provide market insights and feedback to support the growth of Somersault.
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and optimise strategies.
  • Provide regular reports on sales activities, achievements, and challenges, keeping management informed about progress and recommending corrective actions when needed.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, emerging retail trends, and changing consumer behaviours to anticipate market shifts and proactively adapt strategies.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of success in modern trade sales, preferably in the kids wear or fashion industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of the retail landscape in North India, specifically in the modern trade sector.
  • Strong network and existing relationships with key retailers in the region.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with retailers and internal stakeholders.
  • Result-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel within the region extensively.
