Job Description: Formulation Chemist – R&D (CCD)

Designation: Formulation Chemist

Function: R&D – CCD
Role: Scientist
Reporting To: Senior R&D Lead
Location: Kolkata (BT Road)

Job Objective

To develop optimize and support cosmetic/Ayurvedic and OTC product formulations ensuring stability safety regulatory compliance and smooth scale-up from lab to manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize cosmetic/Ayurvedic formulations such as creams gels ointments and OTC products.

• Conduct pre-formulation studies based on literature review and ingredient compatibility.

• Prepare lab-scale batches and perform confirmatory and stability studies.

• Support product scale-up and technology transfer to manufacturing.

• Ensure compliance with GMP ingredient safety regulations and labelling norms.

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation reports and formulation records.

• Interact with vendors to identify and evaluate new raw materials for NPD.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development initiatives.

Candidate Profile

Qualification

• Bachelor’s: / BSc Chemistry (Hons) / BTech Chemical Engineering / BTech Cosmetic Technology

• Master’s preferred: / MSc Chemistry / Master’s in Cosmetic Technology

Experience

• 3–4 years of relevant experience

Industry Background

• Cosmetics / Pharmaceutical / Ayurvedic / OTC Products

Technical Skills & Knowledge

• Strong understanding of cosmetic formulation science

• Experience with emulsions surfactants polymers and preservatives (preferred)

• Knowledge of stability studies scale-up processes and GMP practices

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to cosmetic ingredients and products
