Job Title : IBM MQ Administrator / Specialist
Role Summary
The IBM MQ Administrator is responsible for managing, configuring, and maintaining IBM MQ environments to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient message transmission across enterprise applications. This role involves installation, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and integration with other systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Administration & Support : Install, configure, and administer IBM MQ queue managers on distributed or mainframe platforms.
- Manage MQ objects (queues, channels, listeners) and ensure high availability.
- Perform MQ upgrades, patches, and health checks.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting : Monitor MQ performance and resolve issues related to queue managers, cluster queues, and certificates.
- Diagnose and rectify MQ-related incidents promptly.
- Security & Compliance : Implement TLS / SSL certificate management and security best practices.
- Ensure compliance with change management and IT controls.
- Integration & Documentation : Collaborate with application teams for MQ integration with systems like IBM Integration Bus, WebSphere Message Broker.
- Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
- On-Call Support : Provide 24 / 7 support as part of an on-call rotation for critical MQ environments.
