Job Summary :
The General Manager HR Business Partner acts as a strategic partner to business leaders, leading the HRBP function across a headcount of 15,000 - 20,000 employees, including agents and associates. This role is responsible for driving employee engagement, retention, diversity, and culture across business units while ensuring operational and strategic HR excellence. The role requires a highly proactive, people-centric, and hands-on leader with a strong ability to influence and align people strategy with business goals.
Role & responsibilities :
Strategic HR Partnership
Serve as a strategic advisor to business leaders, aligning HR strategy with business outcomes
Drive workforce readiness and organization design to support growth and transformation
Champion strategic HR initiatives with measurable impact
Employee Lifecycle Management
Own the end-to-end employee lifecycle : hire to retire
Ensure consistent delivery of onboarding, performance management, talent development, and exits
Implement scalable HR processes for a high-volume workforce
Employee Engagement & Culture
Lead initiatives that improve eNPS, employee satisfaction, and workplace culture
Design and execute engagement strategies that are inclusive, data-backed, and action-oriented
Foster a high-performance, inclusive, and people-first culture
Attrition Management & Retention
Analyze trends and reasons for attrition across various levels
Design and implement retention frameworks, especially for associate and agent populations
Engage with business heads to address people risks proactively
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)
Champion DEI efforts to build a more inclusive, representative workforce
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DEI into hiring, development, and promotion processes
People Analytics
Use data and insights to drive decisions around performance, engagement, attrition, and workforce planning
Build a strong analytics-driven HRBP culture
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in HR, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred
15+ years of progressive HR experience in IT & BPO sectors
Experience managing a large-scale workforce (15,000 - 20,000 employees)
Preferred candidate profile
Strategic thinking with strong operational depth
Affable, influential, and highly people-centric leadership style
Expertise in employee lifecycle management and organizational development
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills
High emotional intelligence and ability to manage complex people issues
Work Environment and Conditions
Full-time position based in Chennai
May involve occasional travel across Bangalore.
