About the Role
We are seeking an SAP Ariba Downstream Consultant to support requisition-to-order processes across a global procurement landscape. Our Ariba solution for non-production materials is live across EMEA, Americas, and APAC, integrated with SAP ERP and MDG. This role focuses on operational excellence, catalog and PunchOut management, integration stability, and quarterly release readiness. You will collaborate with global teams, suppliers, and technology partners to ensure seamless ordering flows and compliance.
What You Will Do
- Own and optimize daily operations for Ariba Buying, Guided Buying, catalog management, and PunchOut.
- Support Business Network document flows including purchase orders, order confirmations, and ship notices.
- Ensure visibility for order status, confirmation status, and shipment progress.
- Coordinate catalog updates and PunchOut configuration with suppliers and internal teams.
- Troubleshoot issues such as PO errors, catalog sync problems, and data mismatches.
- Support integration for PR, PO, and GR sync between Ariba and SAP ERP, including mapping checks and field alignment.
- Review integration logs, CIG mappings, and IDoc behavior with ERP and middleware teams.
- Ensure master data consistency for catalogs, materials, and purchasing groups.
- Perform quarterly SAP Ariba release testing, review release notes, and implement new features.
- Prepare and review BRD, FSD, and test scripts;
participate in SIT and UAT cycles.
Manage AMS tasks including incidents, service requests, and small enhancements.Provide user support and training for downstream processes including catalog use, requisitioning, ordering, and goods receipt.Support suppliers with connectivity testing for PunchOut, catalog data, and Business Network document flows.Collaborate closely with the Ariba Upstream Consultant to maintain connected end-to-end procurement flows.Work effectively in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.What You Bring
5–8 years of experience with SAP Ariba, focusing on Buying, Guided Buying, catalog management, and PunchOut.Strong understanding of PR-to-PO and GR processes in SAP ERP.Experience with Business Network document flows for orders, confirmations, and ship notices.Knowledge of CIG or service-based integration for PR, PO, and GR data exchange.Experience reviewing logs, mappings, and field behavior during integration troubleshooting.Experience with SIT / UAT cycles and creation / review of BRD, FSD, and test scripts.Strong communication skills and comfort working with suppliers and global business teams.Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Eagerness to expand expertise across the full Ariba suite.SAP Ariba certification is a plus.Cross-Area Knowledge
Your focus will be Downstream, but you should have a basic understanding of Upstream topics such as supplier onboarding, sourcing events, and contract processes. This will develop naturally through collaboration with the Upstream Consultant.
