Location : Bangalore (HSR Layout)

Experience Required : 8+ years

No. of Positions : 1

Shift Timings : Rotational (11 PM - 8 AM and 8 AM - 5 PM)

Job Description :

We are hiring an experienced Progress DBA with strong expertise in Progress OpenEdge Database Administration. The role involves managing, monitoring, and optimizing Progress databases in a UNIX environment with a focus on performance tuning, disaster recovery, and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities :

Progress Database Administration on OpenEdge V11 or higher in UNIX / Linux environment.
Installation, upgrades, database creation and maintenance.
Manage advanced OE features : Auditing, CDC, AI Management, Replication, PAS.
Perform dump & load (sequential, parallel, multi-threaded) and type conversions (Type1 ? Type2).
Develop and manage backup & recovery strategies and Disaster Recovery (DR) planning.
Configure, monitor, and maintain AdminServer, NameServer, and AppServer.
Write and optimize shell / bash scripts for automation.
Support Progress version migrations and OS migrations.
Ensure high database availability and performance tuning.
Basic knowledge of Progress 4GL for troubleshooting and support.

Desired Candidate Profile :

8+ years of experience as a Progress DBA / OpenEdge DBA.

Hands-on experience in Performance Tuning, Backup, DR, Replication, and OE features.

Strong UNIX / Linux experience with scripting skills (shell / bash).

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Flexible to work in rotational shifts.
