Job descriptionManage spot and long-term chartering of chemical tankers, dry bulk vessels, and container space . Negotiate freight contracts, charter party agreements , demurrage clauses, and port handling terms. Maintain strong relationships with ship owners, chartering brokers, NVOCCs, and freight forwarders . Ensure compliance with IMDG, REACH, MARPOL, DG regulations , and other international maritime laws. Oversee customs clearance , import documentation, and regulatory approvals (MSDS, COO, B / L, etc.). Manage classification, packaging, and labeling of hazardous chemicals as per global standards. Coordinate with port authorities, terminals, and bonded warehouses for efficient cargo handling. Manage last-mile logistics , ensuring safe unloading and quality checks. Monitor freight trends, benchmark costs, and initiate cost-saving strategies across shipping modes. Analyze and report KPIs (OTIF, demurrage costs, transit times, etc.) and drive continuous improvement. Handle exceptions, delays, and risk mitigation related to cargo damage, spills, or port disruptions. Lead and develop a high-performing logistics team of 15 ppl. Build a strong logistics network including transporters, and warehouse partners . e movement from port to plant via road tankers, ISO tanks, IBCs, or drums as per cargo type.
