Job Summary :
Naval Architect with strong knowledge in vessel stability, general arrangement and basic design of ships. The role involves preparation and review of stability documentation, hull form development, general arrangement, LSA / FFA plans etc., for offshore and marine projects, ensuring compliance with class and statutory requirements.
- Perform intact and damage stability calculations as per IMO, MARPOL, SOLAS, and class rules.
- Develop basic design drawings including GA (General Arrangement), midship section, lines plan, structural layout.
- Weight control
- Prepare hydrostatic curves, stability booklets, and loading manuals.
- Conduct inclining test procedures and analyse results.
- Support concept design studies, hull form development, and preliminary hydrodynamic assessments.
- Liaison with classification societies for stability and basic design approvals.
- Assist in preparing technical documents, calculations, and design reports.
- Work closely with structural, piping, electrical, and marine systems teams during basic design stage.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture / Ocean Engineering.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in stability and basic ship / offshore design.
- Proficiency in stability & hydrostatics software (e.g. AutoHydro, GHS, NAPA, MaxSurf)
- Proficiency in CAD software pacjages for preparation of 2D drawings and 3D Models
- Knowledge of IMO regulations and classification society rules (ABS, DNV, BV).
- Strong understanding of hull form development, hydrostatics, and basic design principles.
- Good documentation and technical report-writing skills.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork abilities.
