Job Summary :
The Process Exhaust Specialist is responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of process exhaust systems in a high-tech OSAT facility. This role requires deep expertise in handling exhaust systems for cleanrooms, chemical processes, and semiconductor-grade equipment, ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Design & Engineering :
- Review and validate process exhaust system designs including duct routing, scrubbers, blowers, and filtration units.
- Ensure compatibility with semiconductor process tools and cleanroom requirements.
- Coordinate with tool vendors and process engineers for exhaust load calculations and interface requirements.
2. Installation & Commissioning :
Supervise installation of exhaust systems including chemical, acid, solvent, and general exhaust lines.Conduct pre-commissioning checks, airflow balancing, and system integrity testing.Ensure proper integration with Building Management Systems (BMS) and safety interlocks.3. Operations & Maintenance :
Develop preventive maintenance schedules and SOPs for exhaust systems.Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to airflow, pressure drops, and contamination.Ensure uptime and reliability of exhaust systems supporting critical process tools.4. Compliance & Safety :
Ensure adherence to environmental regulations, fire safety codes, and semiconductor industry standards.Implement exhaust monitoring systems and emergency shut-off protocols.Support audits and inspections by internal teams and external agencies.5. Coordination & Documentation :
Interface with HVAC, electrical, and process utility teams for coordinated execution.Maintain detailed documentation including as-built drawings, test reports, and maintenance logs.Prepare technical reports and updates for management and stakeholders.Qualifications & Skills :
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / chemical / industrial engineering.Minimum 10 years of experience in process exhaust systems, preferably in semiconductor or pharmaceutical industries.Strong understanding of cleanroom protocols, chemical handling, and exhaust system design.Familiarity with international standards (SEMI, ASHRAE, NFPA, ISO).Proficient in AutoCAD, airflow simulation tools, and MS Office.Strong analytical, communication, and team coordination skills.
