Job description

Job Purpose

  • Support the Head of Department (HoD) in developing an airline portfolio to increase Passenger (Pax) & Air Traffic Movements (ATM) .
  • Prepare ASD plans , conduct market analysis , and build business cases .
  • Interact with prospective and existing airlines and other stakeholders to enhance airport connectivity and business growth .

  • Key Accountabilities & Performance Indicators

    Business Case Development & Market Analysis

  • Prepare business cases for aircraft up-gauging , new frequencies, and new airline routes.
  • Develop strategies to attract new airlines to the airport.
  • Conduct quantitative & qualitative market analysis and maintain an industry environment scan .
  • Identify prospects (routes, airlines) and manage the sales funnel to meet annual targets.
  • Track performance of ASD processes and recommend corrective actions.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Interact with airlines for business development , presentations, and follow-ups.
  • Develop interline agreements , hybrid models, and hub / spoke alignment strategies.
  • Prepare and present policy papers, AOP drafts, and management review presentations .
  • Build and nurture relationships with key personnel in airlines, tourism authorities, airports, and trade organizations .

  • Regulatory Coordination & Industry Engagement

  • Engage with Ministry of Civil Aviation , State Government , and regulatory bodies on Bilateral Air Services Agreements (ASA) and related policies.
  • Prepare White Papers for government bodies on aviation policy enhancements.
  • Facilitate interactions with Outbound Tour Operators, DMCs, and Foreign Tourist Boards to enhance Outbound Tourism .
  • Oversee event management for new airline launches, route inaugurations, and airline anniversaries .

  • TAAI, TAFI, IATO, FTCCI, NTOs, Tour Operators, Travel Agents, GSAs, Embassies, Airlines, International Airports

  • Airline Customers : Network Planners, Schedule Managers, Sales Teams, GSAs, Travel Bodies, IATA, CAPA, UBM, Routes

  • Educational Qualifications

  • Commerce or Science Graduate / Engineer
  • MBA (International Business / Marketing) – Preferred
  • Relevant Experience

  • 8-12 years in Aviation, Tourism Business Development, Charter Development .
  • Experience with MNC Tour Operators (SOTC, Cox & Kings, Thomas Cook, etc.).
  • Established relationships with key industry personnel
  • Skills Required
