Required Skills

• 3-6 years of experience in administering all aspects of SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases, including installation, configuration, deployment, and general administration of the database engine, creating and maintaining databases and database objects (logical and physical), performance tuning, optimization, networking, and security
• Experience with virtualization, including Microsoft Azure Cloud or Amazon Web Services
• Basic knowledge of the Windows operating system and how it interacts with the database
• Database scripting skills. Ability to read and analyze Transact-SQL
• Automate DBA tasks using PowerShell or any programming language
• Deep expertise in troubleshooting slow-running queries, optimizing indexes, analyzing execution plans, and improving database performance at scale.
• Automate backup scheduling and test restore procedures.
• Strong understanding of database security models, encryption, and auditing practices.
• Experience designing, configuring, and testing database standard and high availability models
• Experience with reporting services, including SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS) and Analysis Service.
• Deploy and manage Azure SQL Database, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
• Configure Azure SQL geo-replication, failover groups, and Azure backup strategies.
• Implement Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Automation for proactive issue detection.

• Azure SQL and SQL Managed Instance
• Other relational databases (MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
• Non-relational databases (MongoDB, Cosmos DB, etc.)
• Other scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
• Microsoft DP-300 Certification
