Mainframe Production Support Engineer - Database & Automation Testing

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide L2 / L3 level production support for mainframe-based applications and services.
• Monitor, triage, and resolve incidents and issues in production environments to ensure minimal downtime.
• Perform root cause analysis and coordinate with development teams for permanent fixes.
• Execute and validate data integrity through strong SQL queries (preferably in MS SQL).
• Support automation initiatives and improve testing processes across the production lifecycle.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure software stability, performance, and quality.
• Document production issues, resolutions, and operational Skills & Qualifications :
• 8+ years of experience in Mainframe Production Support, with a strong focus on database and automation testing.
• Proven expertise in SQL (MS SQL preferred) for complex queries, data validation, and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and ability to work in Agile teams.
• Ability to drive software quality, optimize testing and support processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to handle critical production issues under pressure and ensure timely to Have :
• Exposure to job scheduling tools like Control-M or CA-7.
• Experience in writing or supporting JCL, COBOL, or other mainframe scripting languages.
• Understanding of ITIL processes for incident and change management.
