Role Overview
We're looking for a Technical Artist who can bridge the gap between creative and technical teams in Unreal Engine 5. This role blends art pipeline work, material / shader development, and direct collaboration with developers in both Blueprints and C++. You'll ensure that assets are visually polished, efficiently integrated, and technically sound within the game.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Unreal Engine materials and shaders for environments, props, and gameplay elements.
- Work directly with the development team to create and extend Blueprint and C++ gameplay systems.
- Assist with asset integration, ensuring assets meet both visual and technical requirements.
- Optimize assets, materials, and rendering for performance without sacrificing quality.
- Collaborate with artists to troubleshoot asset or material issues and streamline workflows.
- Develop art-related tools in Blueprints or C++ to improve pipeline efficiency.
- Support the creation and implementation of VFX using Niagara when required.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong understanding of Unreal Engine 5 materials, shaders, and rendering systems.Experience with Blueprint scripting and C++ in Unreal Engine.Proficiency with PBR workflows, texture creation, and asset optimization.Good understanding of asset integration pipelines for real-time environments.Ability to profile and optimize performance in Unreal.Strong communication skills for cross-discipline collaboration.Nice to Have
Niagara VFX creation and integration skills.Knowledge of procedural content tools (Houdini, Unreal PCG).Familiarity with lighting workflows and post-processing in Unreal.Skills Required
