Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and maintain relational and non-relational databases to support business applications.
- Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions for high performance.
- Collaborate with software developers to design database schemas , data models , and integrations .
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across systems.
- Monitor and tune database performance, including indexing, query optimization, and partitioning .
- Assist in database design for new applications and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Implement and manage data migration , ETL processes , and data integration pipelines .
- Work with DBAs on backup and recovery , security management , and user access controls .
- Support testing, debugging, and deployment of database components.
- Document database designs, architecture decisions, and procedures.
- Stay updated with emerging database technologies and recommend improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field .Strong proficiency in SQL and PL / SQL programming.Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server).Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB) is a plus.Solid understanding of database design principles , normalization , and data modeling .Knowledge of ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS) or data integration frameworks .Experience with cloud databases such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL .Understanding of performance tuning , indexing strategies , and query optimization .Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Preferred Qualifications :
Certifications such as :Microsoft Certified : Azure Database Administrator AssociateOracle Certified Professional (OCP)AWS Certified Database – SpecialtyExperience with data warehousing , data lakes , or business intelligence systems .Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines for database deployment and version control (e.g., Liquibase, Flyway).Knowledge of Python, R, or other scripting languages for data automation tasks.Exposure to big data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake, Redshift).
