Senior AWS Data Engineer_Exp : 5+ Years

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

5+ years of hands-on experience as an Application Developer or in similar software engineering roles

Advanced skills in Python; strong SQL and cloud-native development experience (AWS)

Proven expertise in architecting scalable data pipelines (ETL / ELT) OR experience working with extensive data pipelines

Advanced proficiency in relational databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB)

Skilled with Docker and AWS cloud services (Lambda, EC2, ECR, ECS, AWS Batch)

Experience building, integrating, and maintaining REST APIs and data workflows, including working with JSON

Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills

Demonstrated ability to independently onboard / train new engineers and contribute to knowledge bases

Strong background in code reviews, monitoring system performance / stability, and proactively refining solutions

Self-motivation and reliability in remote work settings, including effective time management with distributed teams

Highly Desired Skills

Front-end development experience or familiarity with Vue.js (nice to have but not critical)

Prior experience in architecting scalable infrastructure

Agile software development knowledge (Scrum, Kanban)

Previous open-source contributions

History of quickly adopting and advocating best practices in software development

Proven effectiveness in collaborating with geographically dispersed (remote) teams

Ability to overlap work hours with US-based engineers and operate independently as the sole India-based team member
