Description

Leads the country’s air freight product both operationally and commercially. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities to meet customer expectations and improve service. Fosters open communication with operations, sales, and management to align goals and drive best practices. Provides clear leadership, proactive team management, and motivates through honest dialogue. Continuously enhances profitability by improving and re-engineering processes, while investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions.

Strategic

Develop and implement the national commercial strategy.

Manage service providers and ensure top-tier RFQ / RFI responses and full compliance.

Tactical / Operations

Create and execute operational plans to meet business goals and boost efficiency.

Guide sales operations, maintain and update business plans, and drive digitalization.

Build strong relations with carriers, vendors, and authorities; ensure data integrity and compliance.

Track and improve departmental productivity.

Customer Focus

Support sales and retention; conduct 8–10 client calls monthly.

Act as key sponsor for at least two major customers, providing pricing, routing, and technical solutions.

Help teams deliver competitive proposals and grow export business.

Finance

Review P&L and productivity monthly.

Achieve planned net revenue and yield; assist in airfreight tactical business planning.

Requirements

In-depth expertise in air freight and the Indian market.

IATA / FIATA course graduate preferred.

8+ years’ air freight experience (commercial and operational), including 3–5 years in management.

Strong planning, organizing, and shipment control skills.

Fluent English; excellent cross-cultural communication.

Charismatic, confident, and highly driven professional.
