Technical Product Analyst
Position Summary
The Technical Product Analyst works closely with product managers, engineering teams, QA, and business stakeholders to analyze requirements, optimize product functionality, and support the product development lifecycle. This role requires strong analytical and technical skills, deep understanding of software development processes, and hands-on experience with Jira for backlog management, reporting, and workflow optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Product Analysis & Requirements
- Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for new features and enhancements.
- Translate high-level product concepts into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and workflows.
- Conduct feasibility studies, impact analysis, and data analysis to support decision-making.
- Work with UX / UI teams to refine product requirements and validate user needs.
Product Development Support
Maintain and refine the Jira backlog, including epics, stories, tasks, bugs, and sprint boards.Collaborate with product managers to prioritize features based on business value and technical complexity.Partner with engineering teams to ensure clear understanding of requirements and resolve questions throughout the development cycle.Participate in sprint planning, refinement sessions, retrospectives, and daily standups.Jira Management & Reporting
Configure and manage Jira workflows, dashboards, custom fields, boards, and filters.Generate Jira reports (burndown charts, velocity reports, cycle time, issue analytics) for leadership visibility.Maintain data integrity within Jira to support accurate reporting and planning.Identify opportunities to improve team processes using Jira automation and Confluence documentation.Testing & Quality Support
Support QA teams by ensuring requirements are testable and clear.Conduct functional testing, UAT support, and validation of delivered features.Track defects, analyze trends, and support root-cause analysis.Stakeholder Collaboration
Serve as the bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders.Present findings, product updates, and analytic insights to product leaders.Assist in developing product documentation, release notes, and training materials.Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.1–2+ years of experience as a Product Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role.Strong hands-on experience with Jira (issue management, dashboards, workflows, reports).Solid understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies.Ability to write clear user stories and acceptance criteria (e.g., Gherkin / GWT).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including data analysis.Familiarity with APIs, software architecture basics, and technical concepts.Experience with Confluence, SQL, Excel, or analytical tools (nice to have).Preferred Qualifications
Experience in SaaS, fintech, healthcare, or enterprise software environments.Jira administrator experience or certification.Knowledge of Agile frameworks beyond Scrum (Kanban, SAFe).Experience with product analytics tools (Mixpanel, GA, Amplitude).Soft Skills
