Role Description The Insurance Coordinator – Oncology is a full-time, on-site role based at Cancer Institute Adyar in Chennai. The role involves coordinating insurance-related processes for oncology patients, including verification of coverage, pre-authorization, and documentation support for treatments and procedures. The Insurance Coordinator tracks and manages claims submissions, follows up with insurance providers on pending approvals, and ensures accurate and timely resolution of queries. This position collaborates with clinical teams, billing, and front office staff to maintain clear communication and seamless patient experience regarding insurance matters. The role also includes maintaining detailed records, adhering to institutional and insurer policies, and educating patients and caregivers on insurance procedures and required documentation.
Qualifications

• Strong administrative and coordination skills, including documentation management, record-keeping, and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of health insurance processes, including verification, pre-authorization, claims submission, and reimbursement workflows in a hospital setting.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, caregivers, medical staff, and insurance representatives in a clear and respectful manner.
• Basic numerical and analytical skills to review estimates, bills, and insurance statements for accuracy and compliance.
• Proficiency in using hospital information systems, insurance portals, and common office software (e.g., MS Office, email tools).
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Prior experience in hospital billing, insurance coordination, or oncology services is preferred.
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in commerce, healthcare administration, or a related field is desirable.
• Commitment to ethical practices, confidentiality, and sensitivity to the needs of patients undergoing cancer treatment.
