About Business line / Function: The Global Custody team within Paribas Securities Services is organized into Corporate Actions, Income, and Tax to maximize operational efficiency and accuracy. The Global Custody Tax team is responsible for handling client documentation that enables tax benefits for our clients. The role supports the daily processing of tax‑related activities in line with the standing operating procedures.

Position Purpose: To execute, oversee and manage the end‑to‑end Tax processing activities, ensuring accurate client documentation, timely reconciliation, and compliance with tax regulations. The role includes training of new joiners, liaison with internal and external stakeholders, and contribution to procedural enhancements and system UAT.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

• Allocate work, set priorities, and manage complex tasks in daily operations.
• Perform 'checker' functions for all manual activities related to tax functions.
• Deliver and meet KPI targets in accordance with the set standards.
• Oversee daily Tax processing activities and ensure adherence to SOPs.
• Coach the Tax team; deliver training to new joiners.
• Monitor suspense and Nostro accounts; take corrective actions to clear breaks.
• Supervise back‑office operations for Tax processing, including logistics and HR‑related queries.
• Create and track incidents; follow‑up, escalate, and resolve issues.
• Conduct reconciliation break‑close‑out with the team.
• Lead procedural revisions, adaptations, and validations.
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for any new application implementation.
• Participate in conference calls with European and Asian counterparts.
• Establish communication links with clients to discuss daily operational and performance matters.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

• Technical: Strong understanding of tax laws, withholding taxes, Double Tax Treaty Agreements, international taxation, custody operations, relief‑at‑source, and tax reclaim processes.
• Analytical: Excellent analytical and detail‑orientation skills; ability to interpret complex tax regulations.
• Service Commitment: High service orientation with a focus on client satisfaction.
• Organisational: Solid organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Digital: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially advanced MS‑Word and Excel.
  
  

Specific Qualifications

• Minimum 5‑8 years of experience in international taxation, tax‑reclaim, or custody‑tax operations.
