Role Description As a Digital Counselor – Study Abroad Ed Tech at Kanan.co, you will guide prospective learners through their study abroad journey, from initial inquiry to enrollment in coaching and counseling programs. You will conduct needs assessments, explain suitable courses, universities, and destinations, and provide clear information about test preparation options and timelines. On a day-to-day basis, you will handle inbound and outbound calls, respond to digital inquiries (email, chat, social media, CRM), schedule counseling sessions, and maintain accurate records of interactions and follow-ups. You will collaborate with coaching, operations, and marketing teams to ensure a seamless learner experience, support webinars or information sessions, and contribute feedback to improve digital counseling workflows. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Kanan.co’s headquarters in Vadodara.

Qualifications

• Strong counseling and advisory skills with the ability to understand learner goals and recommend suitable study abroad and test preparation pathways.
• Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written); proficiency in additional regional or foreign languages is an advantage.
• Comfort working with digital tools and platforms, including CRM systems, online counseling tools, video-conferencing apps, and basic office productivity software.
• Customer service and relationship-building skills, with a focus on empathy, clarity, and maintaining long-term learner engagement.
• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple inquiries, follow-ups, and counseling schedules efficiently.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (coaching, operations, marketing) and adapt to a fast-evolving EdTech environment.
• Prior experience in study abroad counseling, education services, test preparation, or EdTech is preferred but not mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; additional certifications in counseling, education, or international studies are beneficial
• Experience with Ed tech companies preferred
