The Controller will partner closely with clients, Venturity Controllers, and internal teams to deliver high-quality financial reporting, identify risks and opportunities, and support informed business decision-making. Success in this role requires strong accounting expertise, client relationship management, leadership capability, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.

Key Responsibilities

🧭 Client Ownership & Strategic Delivery

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client engagements and ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, Venturity Controllers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in client financial reviews and summits, presenting results, business drivers, risks, and recommendations.
  • Support onboarding, transitions, scope expansion, and process improvement across client accounts.

Close Management & Financial Reporting

  • Manage month-end close activities for assigned clients, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Review close binders, reconciliations, financial statements, and reporting packages before client submission.
  • Maintain close calendars, coordinate deliverables, and meet reporting deadlines.
  • Analyze financial results, variances, trends, and business drivers to highlight key issues and opportunities.

Financial Insight & Advisory Support

  • Translate accounting outputs into clear financial insights and business narratives.
  • Explain performance changes, underlying drivers, and potential business impact.
  • Anticipate operational and financial risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support advisory discussions with decision-ready analysis and reporting.

Client Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure client communications are timely, professional, and solution-oriented.
  • Share weekly updates, key action items, and critical business developments.
  • Facilitate client and internal review meetings to align priorities and deliverables.
  • Escalate risks, delays, or issues with practical recommendations and resolution plans.

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Mentor, coach, and support Assistant Controllers and Senior Assistant Controllers across engagements.
  • Review key deliverables for quality, accuracy, and completeness before client submission.
  • Provide developmental feedback and support career growth initiatives.
  • Foster accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

🧠 Technical Expertise & Process Excellence

  • Act as a subject matter expert in U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
  • Provide guidance on complex accounting matters and reporting challenges.
  • Ensure accounting policies, procedures, and documentation standards are consistently applied.
  • Enhance SOPs, review frameworks, reporting methodologies, and ERP-enabled efficiencies.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and workflow optimization.
  • Drive initiatives that improve scalability, efficiency, and reporting quality.
  • Resolve recurring process issues through root-cause analysis and corrective action planning.
  • Champion best practices and continuous improvement across client engagements.

Controls, Governance & Quality Reviews

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and established accounting policies.
  • Conduct quality reviews and monitor binder quality, reporting accuracy, and process adherence.
  • Identify and mitigate operational, financial, and client-related risks.
  • Drive closure of review observations and promote quality, accountability, and risk awareness.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • 8+ years of accounting experience, including month-end close and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and controllership practices.
  • Experience supporting U.S.-based clients in shared services, outsourcing, or professional services environments.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Xero, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical, stakeholder management, problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills.

Why Join Us?

  • Work closely with U.S.-based finance leaders and global teams.
  • Transform financial reporting into actionable business insight.
  • Lead process improvement, automation, and team development initiatives.
