SAP Techno-Functional Consultant

Must Haves:

• 10+ years of techno-functional experience with SAP Finance (FI/Treasury) covering payment processing and bank reconciliation within global enterprise environment.
• Strong functional knowledge of House Bank/Bank Account Management, payment program configuration, and electronic bank statement processing (BAI2, MT940, CAMT.053/054).
• Working technical knowledge of SAP integration technologies relevant to Public Cloud: ABAP, APIs (OData/REST) and event-driven extensibility.
• Comfortability reading logs/traces to distinguishing configuration issues from integration/technical issues — and knowing when to route to which team.
• Experience with SAP Fiori apps relevant to Cash Management and Bank Reconciliation (e.g., Manage Bank Statements, Reconciliation Workbench equivalents).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with both business stakeholders and technical/integration teams.

Plusses:

• Experience with at least one S/4HANA Public Cloud implementation or support engagement.

Day to Day

Insight Global is seeking a Sr. SAP Techno-Functional Specialist to support a top global consulting client. This client delivers solutions through innovative management consulting, technology, and corporate & digital ventures. The specialist will identify and resolve recurring issues in payment processing and bank statement reconciliation within an S/4HANA Public Cloud environment. The role sits between finance operations and the technical SAP team, and requires the ability to trace a failed payment run through configuration and read the underlying integration logs, IDocs, or API payloads to find the root cause.

Functional Responsibilities:

• Investigate and resolve payment processing issues: payment proposal/run errors, house bank and payment method configuration, payment block/exception handling, duplicate or failed payments.
• Own end-to-end bank statement reconciliation troubleshooting: unmatched/partially matched line items, posting rule and algorithm (interpretation algorithm) errors, GL account determination issues.
• Review and refine configuration for Bank Account Management (BAM), House Banks, Bank Statement import formats (MT940, BAI2, CAMT.053/054), and electronic bank statement (EBS) processing.
• Partner with Treasury/Cash Management and Accounting teams to define reconciliation rules, tolerance limits, and exception-handling workflows.
• Support period-end close activities related to cash positioning, bank reconciliation, and payment run cut-offs.
• Document root-cause analyses and drive process/configuration fixes rather than one-off manual corrections.

This is a full-time position with Insight Global and will sit fully remote in India. Working hours are 2pm-10pm IST (Monday-Friday).
