Description : About the Role :
We are seeking an experienced Citrix Consultant (L2) to manage and support enterprise desktop virtualization environments. The role involves working closely with the IT Infrastructure team, handling major incidents, implementing permanent fixes, and ensuring seamless availability of Citrix services. The candidate will also collaborate with OEM vendors, mentor junior team members, and maintain ITIL-based operational practices.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide L2 support for Citrix environments, including XenDesktop, XenApp, and XenServer implementations and configurations.
- Work on desktop and server virtualization, VMware, and Azure / Microsoft cloud platforms.
- Handle major incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement permanent fixes.
- Document and maintain RCA reports, operational procedures, and change logs.
- Prepare Plan of Action (POA) and implement major infrastructure changes with minimal downtime.
- Create and manage LUNs, shared storage, and mapping to hypervisors.
- Collaborate with OEM vendors during major incidents, providing logs and implementing vendor-recommended solutions.
- Ensure Service Level Agreements (SLA) and availability of Citrix services.
- Mentor and guide L2 / L1 engineers, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
- Adhere to ITIL practices, especially around Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
- Monitor system health, capacity, and performance to proactively prevent issues.
- Support automation and scripting tasks for routine operations and deployments.
Required Skills & Expertise :
Strong experience in Citrix Desktop Virtualization (XenDesktop, XenApp, XenServer).Hands-on experience in VMware virtualization and Azure / Microsoft environments.Knowledge of desktop and server virtualization concepts, storage fundamentals, and network connectivity.Experience in incident management, problem resolution, and change management processes.Ability to troubleshoot desktop, application, and server performance issues efficiently.Strong documentation skills for RCAs, procedures, and configuration changes.Familiarity with storage management, including creating and mapping LUNs to hypervisors.Understanding of ITIL best practices and experience working in ITSM tools.Ability to work in rotational shifts and 24 / 7 support environments.(ref : hirist.tech)
