Kontact Interiors is a Hyderabad-based interior design and execution company focused on delivering premium-looking interiors at affordable prices with a strong emphasis on transparency, design quality, and execution.

We are looking for a Senior Interior Designer who can independently manage residential interior projects from concept to design freeze while guiding junior designers and coordinating closely with the Sales and Delivery teams.

Reports To: Associate Design Manager / Design Manager

Key Responsibilities1. Design & Concept Development

• Understand client requirements, lifestyle, budget, preferences, and functional needs.
• Develop complete interior design concepts for residential projects.
• Prepare mood boards, layouts, furniture plans, material selections, and design presentations.
• Create designs that balance aesthetics, functionality, budget, and execution feasibility.
• Maintain Kontact Interiors' design standards across all projects.

2. Client Management

• Conduct design meetings and presentations with clients.
• Clearly explain design concepts, materials, finishes, and functional decisions.
• Handle client feedback professionally and convert requirements into practical design solutions.
• Build strong client relationships throughout the design phase.
• Take ownership of design-related client escalations.

3. Drawings & Documentation

• Prepare and review:
• Detailed floor plans
• Furniture layouts
• Elevations
• Modular furniture drawings
• Ceiling plans
• Electrical layouts
• Lighting layouts
• Material/finish schedules
• Site-ready drawings
• Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, and execution-friendly.
• Maintain proper documentation and revision control.

4. Design-to-Execution Coordination

• Coordinate with the Delivery/Site team to ensure the approved design is executed correctly.
• Identify design issues before they reach the site.
• Participate in site discussions when required.
• Provide design clarifications to Project Managers, supervisors, and vendors.
• Ensure deviations from the approved design are properly reviewed and documented.

5. Team Leadership

• Mentor and guide Junior Designers and Design Associates.
• Review drawings and presentations prepared by junior team members.
• Ensure design deliverables are completed within defined timelines.
• Support the Design Manager in maintaining team productivity and quality.
• Share design knowledge, material knowledge, and execution best practices with the team.

6. Project & Timeline Management

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Plan design deliverables according to project schedules.
• Ensure designs progress from initial concept to final design freeze without unnecessary delays.
• Coordinate with Sales, Procurement, Production, and Delivery wherever required.
• Maintain regular updates on project status and pending client decisions.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of residential interior design.
• Excellent space planning skills.
• Strong understanding of modular furniture and interior execution.
• Good knowledge of materials, finishes, hardware, lighting, false ceiling, electrical and basic civil requirements.
• Strong client presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to read and prepare technical drawings.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to work under deadlines.

Software Requirements

Mandatory:

• SketchUp
• AutoCAD
• Google Sheets / Google Workspace

Preferred:

• V-Ray / Enscape
• Photoshop
• MS Office

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of relevant experience in residential interior design.
• Experience in an interior design and execution company will be preferred.

Working Expectations

• Client meetings and site visits as required.
• Willingness to work on Sundays when required as part of project/client schedules.
• Strong ownership of assigned projects.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be comfortable coordinating across Sales, Design, Production, Procurement, and Delivery teams.

What We Expect From You

We are looking for someone who doesn't just design beautiful spaces, but understands how those designs will actually be built.

The ideal candidate should be able to take ownership of a project, confidently handle clients, guide junior designers, identify execution challenges early, and deliver designs that are beautiful, practical, commercially viable, and executable within timelines.

Compensation

Salary: ₹40,000 per month, depending on experience, skills, and interview performance.

Performance-based growth and incentives may be provided based on individual and project performance.
