Release Manager

Key Responsibilities

Release & Change Management

• Lead and coordinate release planning, scheduling, and lifecycle management.
• Govern the Change Management process to minimize deployment risks.
• Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality.
• Conduct Release Readiness, Milestone, and Go/No-Go reviews.
• Maintain a centralized release calendar across all portfolios.

Pipeline & Process Optimization

• Collaborate with DevOps teams to monitor, support, and optimize CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure automated testing, security scans, and deployment steps are integrated into the pipeline.
• Enforce ITIL framework best practices for Change, Incident, and Configuration Management.
• Standardize deployment playbooks and rollback procedures.

Tool Administration & Governance

• Utilize and configure enterprise tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally) to track development and operational readiness.
• Map work items from Agile tools (Jira/Rally) to Change Requests in ServiceNow.
• Generate release metrics, deployment dashboards, and post-mortems for leadership.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: 6+ years of experience in Release Management, Change Management, or a DevOps environment.
• Tooling Expertise:
• Proficient in ServiceNow for ITSM and Change Management.
• Hands-on experience with Agile tracking tools like Jira, Azure DevOps (Boards), or Rally.
• CI/CD Knowledge: Deep conceptual understanding of pipeline automation (e.g., Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, GitLab CI) and automated gates.
• Frameworks: Strong alignment with ITIL processes (ITIL Certification is a major plus).
• Communication: Exceptional negotiation and communication skills to manage conflict and coordinate across cross-functional tech teams.
