Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Professor of Psychiatry to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, provide high-quality patient care, and actively participate in research and academic activities. The candidate should possess the qualifications and experience prescribed by the National Medical Commission.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, clinical demonstrations, and bedside teaching for MBBS and postgraduate students.
• Supervise and mentor postgraduate residents, interns, and undergraduate students.
• Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for patients.
• Conduct outpatient (OPD), inpatient (IPD), emergency, and consultation-liaison psychiatric services.
• Participate in departmental academic activities, including seminars, journal clubs, case presentations, and CMEs.
• Guide and supervise research projects, dissertations, and publications.
• Contribute to curriculum development and implementation.
• Participate in departmental administration, quality assurance initiatives, and accreditation processes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure holistic patient care.
• Maintain accurate clinical, academic, and research records.
• Perform any other academic or administrative duties assigned by the Head of the Department or institution.

Qualification

• MD in Psychiatry from a recognized medical institution.
• Registration with the State Medical Council/NMC.
• Must fulfill the eligibility criteria for Associate Professor as per NMC regulations.

Experience

• Required teaching experience as per current NMC norms for the post of Associate Professor.
• Experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
• Proven experience in patient care, research, and academic administration is preferred.
