About the Role

Metrix Tax Filing is looking for a Tax Associate (Client Relationship Officer) to join our growing team. In this client-facing role, you will manage client communication throughout the U.S. tax return preparation process. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring timely collection of tax documents, coordinating with internal tax teams, resolving client queries, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients via phone, email, and chat during the U.S. tax return preparation and filing process.

Collect, review, and organize client tax documents before assigning cases to the tax preparation team.

Respond to client inquiries regarding tax documents, filing status, missing information, and the overall tax filing process.

Record and update client interactions and case progress in the CRM system.

Coordinate with internal tax preparers to resolve client issues and obtain additional documentation when required.

Follow up proactively with clients to ensure timely submission of pending documents and approvals.

Obtain client confirmations for accurate and timely tax return filing.

Handle customer concerns and first-level escalations while maintaining high service standards.

Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Maintain confidentiality of client financial information and comply with company data security policies.

Support process improvements to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Tax Preparation and Tax Compliance to accurately prepare and review U.S. tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Candidates should possess expertise in Tax Planning to identify legal tax-saving strategies and optimize client tax positions.
• Candidates should possess experience with Tax Audits and related audit support, including responding to IRS and state tax notices.
• Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Tax Law, including current U.S. federal and state regulations and FBAR/FATCA requirements.
• Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field; professional certifications (CPA, EA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, proficiency with tax software and MS Office tools, and the ability to communicate clearly with U.S.-based clients.
• Ability to work on-site in Hyderabad, manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively in a diverse, team-oriented setting.
• Willingness to work in the Night Shift (U.S. Business Hours).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• 0–3 years of experience in customer service, client relationship management, taxation, or a related field.
