Business Accountability Manager

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Business Accountability Manager

In this role, you will:

• Manage and develop a team of specialists and coordinators tasked with activities in support of the business' risk mitigation activities
• Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement, risk mitigation, and control opportunities
• Make decisions and resolve issues regarding resources, objectives, and operations of team to meet business objectives interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with low to moderate complexity and risk within scope of responsibilities
• Manage allocation of people and financial resources for team
• Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of risk management, business controls, or compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 2+ years of leadership experience

Desired Qualifications:

• Proven experience leading large-scale Compliance, Risk Management, Audit, or Regulatory programs within a technology or financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of Risk Assessable Units (RAUs), RCSA, control execution, corrective actions, audit management, and regulatory examination processes.
• Experience partnering with senior leaders, Audit, Operational Risk, Compliance, and Technology organizations to address complex risk and compliance challenges.
• Strong program management skills with a track record of delivering cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Expertise in developing and implementing governance frameworks, operating procedures, risk metrics, and management reporting.
• Proven success driving automation, process simplification, and control modernization initiatives that improve efficiency, scalability, and risk management effectiveness.
• Experience managing enterprise compliance domains such as vulnerability management, configuration management, exception governance, asset management, and policy compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
• Knowledge of enterprise regulatory and control frameworks, including experience supporting audits, regulatory exams, and remediation programs.
• Experience leveraging data analytics, reporting platforms, and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to improve compliance program effectiveness.

Job Expectations:

• Lead Compliance Engineering Services - risk, compliance, audit, and regulatory programs across multiple Risk Assessable Units.
• Provide strategic leadership and governance oversight for critical compliance initiatives and control programs.
• Ensure timely closure of audit findings, corrective actions, regulatory commitments, and control gaps.
• Drive compliance transformation through process simplification, standardization, and automation.
• Establish and monitor key risk, compliance, and operational performance metrics.
• Partner with Audit, Compliance, Operational Risk, Technology, and senior leadership teams to manage enterprise risk obligations.
• Lead large-scale initiatives related to vulnerability management, configuration management, deployment controls, and exception governance.
• Strengthen organizational effectiveness through talent development, succession planning, and leadership coaching.
• Drive accountability for execution quality, operational excellence, and regulatory readiness.
• Influence strategic decisions and deliver measurable improvements in compliance posture, risk reduction, and process efficiency
