Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) - 4764 IT Development Team Overview Location: Hybrid - Wed/Thurs in office Hyderabad Employment Type: full time Experience: 4 - 7 years Compensation: INR- Interview Process L1: Technical screening L2: Onsite Technical Managerial round Job Title Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Experience Required Extracted: 4-7 Years of overall experience / 4 years of experience in QA automation (maximum 7 years of experience) Overview Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) role focused on building and maintaining automation test suites and performing functional regression and integration testing across UI backend APIs batch jobs databases and AWS resources. The role emphasizes end-to-end workflow automation CI/CD integration and maintaining testing documentation and artifacts. Requires strong programming (Java or Python) shell scripting and experience with modern automation frameworks (Playwright/Selenium). Key Responsibilities Design develop and maintain automation test suites using Playwright and shell scripting Perform functional regression and integration testing across UI database batch jobs and AWS resources Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure high-quality deliverables Automate complex end-to-end workflows and improve test coverage Coordinate end-to-end testing across different product and domain teams Support CI/CD pipelines and integrate automated tests into the development lifecycle Contribute to and maintain testing documentation standards and best practices Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve quality and maintainability Propose new approaches to enhance automation efficiency and effectiveness Document automation workflow design/steps/usage; create user guides/runbooks Document and track test artifacts in tools such as Jira and source-code control (automation scripts) Maintain tools used in test development (source control test management release systems) Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices Communicate obstacles to avoid impediments and timeline disruption Perform manual testing as required Required Qualifications BE/ in any relevant stream 4 years of experience in QA automation with focus on modern frameworks Strong programming in Java or Python Strong shell scripting Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript Experience with database queries Experience with Linux environment Experience testing backend APIs and web-based UI applications Experience with JMeter or other performance testing tools Solid understanding of AWS services Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins GitHub Actions or GitLab CI) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail Strong communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment Experience with test management tools (e.g. JIRA TestRail) and bug tracking systems
