With multiple ongoing defence development programmes, we are looking for passionate engineers who enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and transforming concepts into manufacturable products. Position Overview/n We are looking for a Design Engineer with strong 3D CAD modelling skills (Efficient with Solidworks) and an interest in reverse engineering, product development, and precision manufacturing. /n The role involves converting physical components into accurate 3D models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and production-ready designs using modern CAD tools and 3D scanning technology. You will work closely with the manufacturing, tooling, and R&D teams to develop products optimized for manufacturability, assembly, performance, and cost. Key Responsibilities/n /n Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using CAD software. /n Perform reverse engineering of physical components using 3D scanners and precision measuring equipment. /n Convert scanned data into accurate CAD models suitable for manufacturing. /n Create complete engineering drawings with GD&T, tolerances, BOMs, and manufacturing specifications. /n Design products considering manufacturability, assembly feasibility, and cost optimization. /n Validate assemblies, clearances, fits, tolerances, and functional interfaces before production. /n Collaborate with manufacturing, machining, tooling, and quality teams during product development. /n Modify and improve existing designs based on testing, manufacturing feedback, and customer requirements. /n Maintain proper engineering documentation, revision control, and design records. /n Continuously learn and adopt new design tools, software, and engineering technologies. /n Required Skills/n /n Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (Prefered) or similar 3D CAD software. /n Excellent understanding of mechanical design fundamentals. /n Ability to prepare manufacturing drawings with GD&T. /n Experience or willingness to work with 3D scanning and reverse engineering. /n Good understanding of manufacturing processes including CNC machining, fabrication, casting, moulding, and assembly. /n Ability to analyse assemblies and optimize tolerances. /n Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. /n Good communication and documentation skills. /n Preferred Qualifications/n /n B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. /n 3–7 years of experience in product design or mechanical engineering. /n Fresh graduates with exceptional CAD skills and a strong learning attitude are also encouraged to apply. /n What You'll Work On/n You will contribute to the development of: /n /n Defence equipment and subsystems /n Ballistic products /n Precision mechanical assemblies /n Tooling, dies, and fixtures /n Reverse-engineered components /n New product development for indigenous manufacturing /n Why Join RVB?/n /n Work on cutting-edge indigenous defence technologies. /n Opportunity to work on challenging R&D and new product development projects. /n Exposure to advanced CAD, reverse engineering, and manufacturing technologies. /n Collaborative environment with experienced engineering and production teams. /n Opportunity to build products from concept to production. /n
