Sr Engineer / Dy Manager - R&D (Power Electronics)

Summary :- This position holds responsibility for the design and development of a new product related to power factor correction. The incumbent needs to manage and control the design and development work within the framework of Business Group-specific design and development guidelines.

The job requires realizing the market and customer requirements and developing competitive products and in the event of changes in product, the person needs to ensure that risks are minimized, and quality remains assured as per Company-wide specifications.

This position demands close interaction with multi located Research and development centers of film capacitors plants and hence considering applicable environmental / regulatory aspects specific to locations is must. The incumbent needs to closely work with Sales and Marketing, Product Marketing and operations since the interfaces with these functions are the key to successful product and process design and development.

Key responsibilities :-

1. Receive product enquiries from product marketing dept. & carry out assessment with costing and product marketing and giving timely reply to the customer.
2. Designing products as per customer requirements, Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental, Statutory and regulatory requirements, application, following relevant IS/IEC standards.
3. Planning and conducting design review, design verification & design validation making use of House of quality.
4. Use of APQP/ Short release/Material release procedures for the development of new products or changes in existing products. Create and maintain documents as per APQP/ Short release procedures
5. Review, modify and evaluate the existing Product design and processes and implement the improvement plan if required.
6. Analyzing customer complaints and support in preparing 8-D report.
7. Identify and implement corrective & preventive actions based on customer complaints, feedback and internal inputs.
8. Preparing, reviewing and maintaining product FMEA and control plan.
9. Taking corrective and preventive actions whenever there is change in product/process.
10. Identifying, Planning and executing cost reduction projects as per budget.
11. Ensuring implementation of standards defined under Quality Management Systems.
12. Review of profitability of existing products.
13. Shall be aware of the knowledge of product standards. (IEC, UL, VDE, IS)

Education: Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics) / ME / M Tech

Knowledge: Essential –

1. Understanding of power electronic capacitors and filtering applications.

2. Familiarity with processes and raw material development.

3. Knowledge of electrical and thermal simulation.

4. Practical experience in power electronic capacitor development.

5. Awareness of IATF16949.

6. Experience with FMEA, control plans, and change management.

7. Understanding of APQP product development procedures or similar guidelines.

8. Knowledge of current market trends in processes and machines.

9. Familiarity with AutoCAD and Solid Edge.

Desired –
