Client: A Leading D2C baby product brand was founded in 2014 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Company is having annual turnover of around 200 Cr. & employee strength of 200 employees & they are providing international safety standard certified bay products by their e-commerce website & online market platforms like Amazon, Flipkart & other leading online & offline platforms.

Designation: Assistant Manager NPD

Sector: Ecommerce

Location: Factory / Playpipers

Salary:50000-60000 INR

Qualification: BE Mechnical/Diploma

Experience: 6-10 Years

Job Timings: 9:30 AM to 6:30PM

Job Purpose

The role will ensure timely execution of New Product Development (NPD) projects from concept to commercialization by coordinating with cross-functional teams including Design, Tooling, Production, Quality, Purchase, and Vendors.

Key Responsibilities

A. New Product Development

Execute new product development projects as per approved timelines.
Coordinate product design reviews, feasibility analysis, and prototype development.
Participate in concept evaluation, product improvement, and value engineering activities.
Prepare and maintain project timelines, development plans, and progress reports.

B. Tooling & Manufacturing Support

Coordinate with tool makers for mold development, modifications, and validation.
Support mold trials, troubleshooting, and process optimization activities in injection molding, blow molding, and assembly trials.

C. Project Coordination

Coordinate with Design, Purchase, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
Follow up with vendors regarding development samples, tooling status, and material availability.
Track project milestones.
Ensure closure of open points identified during trials and reviews.

D. Documentation & Compliance

Prepare BOM, product specifications, trial reports, and validation documents.
Maintain NPD records as per ISO and company requirements.
Support implementation of SOPs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Prepare product launch reports and handover documents to Production.

E. Cost & Productivity Improvement

Identify cost reduction and value engineering opportunities.
Participate in productivity improvement, waste reduction, and quality enhancement projects.

Experience

• 6-10 years of experience in New Product Development within plastics, toys, consumer products, or related manufacturing industries.
• Hands-on experience in injection molding and blow molding processes.
• Experience in mold trials, product validation, and project coordination.
• Knowledge of ISO documentation and quality systems.

Technical Skills

• Product development process management.
• Injection molding and blow molding knowledge.
• Mold development and troubleshooting.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent CAD software.
• Project planning and tracking.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• On-time completion of NPD projects.
• Trial success rate and closure of observations.
• Cost-saving initiatives and implementation.
• Adherence to project timelines and documentation requirements
