Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Clinical Research Business Development professional. The role involves identifying and developing new business opportunities with biopharma sponsors, CROs, and other research partners, as well as maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and qualifying leads, preparing and presenting capabilities decks and proposals, coordinating bid defenses, and collaborating with clinical and operational teams to shape solutions that meet client needs. The individual will track market trends, competitor activity, and pipeline metrics, and will contribute to strategic planning, revenue forecasting, and contract negotiations. Regular cross-functional communication, accurate CRM management, and participation in virtual meetings and industry events are core aspects of the position.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management within clinical research, biopharma, or healthcare services.
  • Strong relationship-building, stakeholder management, and client-facing communication skills.
  • Ability to understand clinical trial processes, protocols, and regulatory considerations and translate them into compelling business proposals.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools, sales pipelines, and data-driven reporting to manage opportunities and forecast revenue.
  • Solid organizational, project management, and time-management skills to handle multiple opportunities and deadlines in a remote environment.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with clinical operations, medical, finance, and marketing teams to develop integrated solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing presentations, proposals, and client correspondence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, healthcare administration, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Prior experience in patient-centric or site-centric research models is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently, maintain professional ethics, and contribute to an inclusive, non-discriminatory workplace.
