Job descriptionInterested candidates, kindly mail to enpcareers.hr@ril.com Role Purpose Provides technical leadership for syngas conditioning section during Pre-FEED, BDEP, and FEED phases of the Syngas-to-SNG project. Leads technology selection, TBE, and licensor evaluation, across CO shift, AGR, and cryogenic CH₄ recovery units; ensures technical integrity of process deliverables. Manages and coordinates with the technologists. Key Responsibilities - Lead technology selection and evaluation for syngas conditioning — sour/sweet CO shift, AGR (Rectisol, Selexol, or MDEAbased processes), and Cryogenic CH₄ recovery; define technology selection criteria covering H₂S/CO₂ selectivity, catalyst activity, and solvent performance; establish evaluation framework. - Evaluate CO₂ capture efficiency and H₂S/CO₂ selectivity requirements for the AGR unit; ensure alignment with SNG product specification and environmental compliance requirements. - Coordinate and manage discipline Technologists; assign work, review outputs, and ensure technical consistency across disciplines. - Review licensor technology proposals, process descriptions, and datasheets; challenge technical claims and assess performance guarantees. - Lead preparation of Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) for technology packages; drive licensor selection recommendations. - Review Pre-FEED deliverables (process basis, heat & mass balances, technology selection reports). - Lead PFD and P&ID review; ensure completeness, technical accuracy, and operability. - Lead and coordinate HAZID and HAZOP; ensure all actions are documented and closed. - Review and approve BDEP and FEED deliverables across the syngas conditioning units. - Review and approve equipment specifications, process design basis, and vendor data. - Identify long lead equipment; provide technical inputs for equipment specifications and procurement strategy - Assess impact of UCG syngas composition variability on conditioning unit performance; define feed envelope and develop bracketing design cases for varying UCG gas quality. - Interface with Configuration Optimization team to ensure alignment of technology inputs with overall project configuration. - Maintain awareness of CO shift catalyst developments, AGR solvent advances, and cryogenic process improvements; contribute technology benchmarking insights. Key Skills & Competencies - Deep technical knowledge of syngas conditioning technologies — sour/sweet CO shift, acid gas removal (Rectisol, Selexol, MDEA-based), and cryogenic CH₄ recovery; understanding of H₂S/CO₂ selectivity, sulfur recovery options, and SNG product quality requirements. - Understanding of UCG syngas composition variability and its impact on conditioning unit design, catalyst selection, and solvent loading. - Proven experience in technology evaluation, TBE preparation, and licensor/vendor selection for process technology packages. - Process design review expertise — PFDs, P&IDs, heat & mass balances, and equipment datasheets. - Strong technical leadership and team management; experience coordinating multi-discipline technical teams. - Experience in HAZID/HAZOP facilitation. - Proficiency in process simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS, Pro/II, or equivalent). - Knowledge of BDEP and FEED deliverable requirements; understanding of project lifecycle for major capital projects. - Strong communication and stakeholder management; ability to present technical recommendations to senior management. - Familiarity with applicable HSE standards, codes (ASME, API, IBR), and statutory compliance requirements. Qualifications & Experience - B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering. - 15–20 years (Grade F) / 10–15 years (Grade G) in gas processing or SNG technology, with minimum 5 years in a technical lead role. - Experience in Pre-FEED, BDEP, and FEED phases for process plants; TBE and licensor selection experience required; exposure to CO shift, AGR, and cryogenic unit design preferred.
