Assistant Manager - Payroll & Taxation - Remote

Job Summary:

A fast-growing, AI-powered information security and compliance automation company is looking to hire an Assistant Manager – Payroll and Taxation with 4–6 years of experience who will be responsible for managing direct and indirect tax compliance, statutory filings, and payroll processing, while ensuring accurate and timely tax payments, reporting, and litigation handling across locations.

The company has been in operation since last about 5 years and boosts a team size of over 200+ members.

Designation: Assistant Manager - Taxation

Reports to: CFO

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

• Tax Compliance: Ensure that all tax filings (Income tax, Professional tax, TDS etc.) are accurate and submitted on time.
• GST Compliance: Ensuring timely and accurate preparation and filing of GST returns (GSTR 3B, GSTR 1 etc). Handling & Conducting GST audits and responding to tax queries and notices.
• Statutory Compliance: Adhere to statutory requirements under the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF), Employees' State Insurance (ESI), Labour Welfare Fund (LWF), and other relevant laws.

2. Payroll Processing:

• Salary Calculations: Oversee the calculation of salaries, ensuring accuracy in deductions for taxes, provident fund, and other contributions.
• Payroll Disbursement: Manage the timely disbursement of salaries and wages to employees.
• Benefits Administration: Handle employee benefits such as leave encashment, bonuses, and incentives.

3. Tax Planning and Strategy:

• Tax Optimization: Develop strategies for tax savings and optimize the company’s tax liabilities.

4. Reporting and Documentation:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed payroll records and generate reports for management review.
• Reconciliation: GST Input Output reconciliation with books of accounts.
• Audit Coordination: Coordinate with Tax auditors for Tax audits and other statutory compliances.
• Documentation: Ensure that all payroll and tax documentation is accurate, complete, and securely stored.

5. System Management:

• Payroll Systems: Manage and optimize payroll software and systems to ensure efficient processing.

6. Coordination with Other Departments:

• Human Resources: Work closely with HR to align payroll processes with recruitment, compensation, and employee exit procedures.

Required Skill Sets:

• Minimum Full Time B.COM or M. COM mandatory (Inter CA Preferred).
• Minimum 4-6 years experience in Direct and Indirect Taxation.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritise, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Education: B.com or M.com (Inter CA Preferred)

Experience: Minimum 4-6 years experience in Direct and Indirect Taxation

Working days: Monday-Friday (Remote)

Interview process: Round 1 with Senior Finance Manager (basics) + Round 2 with CFO
