We are looking for a skilled U.S. Individual Tax Associate to join our growing team. The role involves preparing U.S. federal, state, and international informational returns, supporting global clients, and collaborating with teams across India, Europe, and the U.S.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of U.S. individual federal and state tax returns for U.S. citizens worldwide.
2. Preparation of U.S. non-resident individual tax returns.
3. Assist in preparing the FBAR Form 114.
4. Responsible for the preparation of the informational forms such as 8858, 8938, 5471, 8865, Form 3520 etc.
5. Participate in preparation of gift and estate tax returns such as, Form 709 and 706.
6. Preparation of SFOP tax returns, FBARs and Form 14653.
7. Identify and report PFICs on Form 8621.
8. Be involved in preparation of exit tax return and tax gain calculation.
9. Drafting responses to the IRS notices.
10. Reporting to the senior management and supporting the administrative team.
11. Working with the team in Europe and the U.S. to meet the client and IRS deadlines.
Qualification and expectations:
1. Bachelor’s / master’s degree in commerce, business administration or equivalent.
2. Extensive U.S. international individual tax experience in a public accounting firm or industry with a focus on U.S. expatriate taxation, with a minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience.
3. EA certification or willingness to obtain EA or CPA certification.
4. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well in a team.
5. Fluency in English. Knowledge of German and/or another European language is an added advantage.
6. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple clients simultaneously.
7. Willingness to support the teams working in different time zones.
8. Knowledge of working in CCH tax software.
9. Awareness of corporate data protection.
10. Willingness to travel.
