Role Title:Software Engineer

Position Summary:

This is a junior-level technical analyst role where you will support the selection, design, implementation, and maintenance of critical components of technology to support Marriott International's consumer first strategy. This role will assist in integrating and advancing our data governance technology platforms in alignment with our core business objectives and technical architecture.

In this role you will function as a technical administrator in our data governance practice. An important part of the data governance team is defining, implementing, managing, and enforcing policies on proper handling of Marriotts data. This includes use of data governance tool sets to support master data management, reference data management, metadata catalog, data lineage, data modeling, data profiling, data quality, data stewardship, and implementing aspects of data governance best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

IT Governance:

• Follows all defined IT standards and processes (i.e. IT Governance, Architecture, SDLC, etc.) and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed
• Maintains a proper balance between business and operational risk
• Follows the defined project management standards and processes.

Supporting Operations:

• Works with team to put sustainable work processes and systems in place that support the execution of the strategy.
• Establishes and maintains complete and up-to-date information to ensure accurate reporting.
• Represents team in resolving situations.
• Maintains and manages inventory and service operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 2+ years of overall experience
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification.
• Demonstrated ability to translate client/stakeholder needs into technology requirements, creatively approach solutions, and influence appropriate courses of action.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, impeccable organization.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others.
• Excellent analytical skills where problems are very unusual and extremely difficult.
• Thrives in a highly collaborative, matrixed, complex, fast paced environment.
• Demonstrated superb attention to details and ability to connect the dots.
• Experience identifying and analyzing alternative solutions to complex business requirements and providing guidance and advice.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies, including those new to the Marriott environment as well as those that are new to the information systems industry.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and system design capabilities

Nice to Have / Preferred Skills:

• Experience in developing software.
• Experience in querying database using SQL or other query language.
• Technology certifications.
• Experience in Agile methodologies.
