Non-Negotiable Requirements
 14-20 years in software engineering, with 5-8 years in people leadership —
managing managers, not just engineers; total years matter less than the depth
and scale of your leadership experience
 Demonstrated experience building and leading engineering organisations of 25
or more across multiple teams or product lines
 Background in B2B SaaS or enterprise product companies — you have shipped
products to real customers, not just delivered projects
 Proven track record of building engineering culture from scratch or from
dysfunction — not just inheriting a healthy team
 Active ownership of hiring — you have built pipelines, interviewed at scale, and
closed strong candidates
 Strong communicator — credible with engineers and business stakeholders
alike; translates complexity into clarity
Strongly Preferred
 Exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, ERP, or industrial enterprise software
domains
 Experience leading an engineering org through a growth, restructuring, or
transformation phase
 Prior title of Director of Engineering, VP Engineering, Head of Engineering, or
equivalent — at a company where that title carried real org-building
accountability
 Familiarity with modern engineering practices — CI/CD, platform thinking,
developer experience, observability
 Experience setting up or maturing the Solution Architecture function within an
engineering organisation
