We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in UK Self-Assessment and Partnership Taxation with 3+ years of hands-on experience. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Self-Assessment (SA) and Partnership modules, ensuring accuracy in tax computations, supporting software development and enhancements, and acting as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. This role requires a strong balance of technical tax expertise, communication skills, and involvement in software improvement processes.

💼 Role: SME – UK Self-Assessment & Partnership (Taxation)

What You'll Do:
• Act as the SME for the UK Self-Assessment and Partnership modules, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with HMRC guidelines.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of Self-Assessment and Partnership concepts, tax computations, and reporting requirements.
• Manage queries and requests from HMRC, internal teams, and clients, providing accurate and timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with product and technology teams to support development, testing, and UAT of the SA and Partnership modules.
• Take ownership of module improvements by conducting research and benchmarking against competitive software solutions.
• Participate in module testing, review requirements, and validate tax logic for accuracy.
• Provide training and knowledge-sharing sessions on the SA and Partnership modules for internal teams.
• Contribute to process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure alignment of the SA and Partnership modules with legislative changes, HMRC updates, and Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.

What We're Looking For:
• 3+ years of demonstrable experience in UK Taxation with a strong focus on Self- Assessment and Partnership.
• In-depth understanding of SA and Partnership rules, concepts, and tax computations across income types, allowances, and reliefs.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to liaise effectively with HMRC, internal teams, and clients.
• Familiarity with tax software, digital submission processes, and HMRC systems.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify gaps, propose enhancements, and validate software functionality.
• Experience with testing cycles (functional, UAT) and working alongside technology teams.
• Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of handling responsibility with minimal supervision.
