Role Overview

\n

We are looking for a Video Editor to join our Marketing team and create compelling content across YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, podcasts, newsletters, and other digital platforms.

\n

This role involves transforming raw footage, podcasts, scripts, and ideas into polished, high-retention content that aligns with Oaklane Capital's premium brand identity. The ideal candidate understands storytelling, pacing, audience engagement, and visual design—not just video editing.

\n

This is a high-impact role that works closely with the Marketing team to create educational content on investing, markets, businesses, founders, and long-term wealth creation.

\n

\n

Experience: +2 years of experience mandatory

\n

\n

Key Responsibilities:

\n

1. Video Editing (Core Responsibility)

\n

\n
• Edit long-form videos, podcasts, interviews, and educational content for YouTube.
\n
• Create engaging short-form content for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and X.
\n
• Repurpose long-form videos and podcasts into multiple high-retention short clips.
\n
• Create strong opening hooks and maintain pacing to improve audience retention.
\n
• Add subtitles, captions, transitions, motion graphics, animations, and branded visual elements.
\n

\n

2. Design & Creative Assets

\n

\n
• Design clean, professional YouTube thumbnails and podcast covers.
\n
• Create social media creatives, quote posts, carousels, and promotional assets.
\n
• Maintain consistency in typography, colours, layouts, and overall brand identity.
\n
• Develop motion graphics, title animations, and lower-thirds where required.
\n

\n

3. Audio & Post-Production

\n

\n
• Clean, sync, and balance audio for professional-quality output.
\n
• Add background music and sound effects where appropriate.
\n
• Ensure final exports meet platform-specific quality and format requirements.
\n

\n

4. Content Optimization

\n

\n
• Understand platform-specific content formats and editing styles.
\n
• Identify the most engaging moments from long-form content.
\n
• Optimize videos for higher watch time, audience retention, and engagement.
\n
• Maintain a consistent publishing-ready standard across all content.
\n

\n

5. Content Management & Collaboration

\n

\n
• Organize raw footage, project files, templates, and final exports efficiently.
\n
• Collaborate with the Marketing team to execute content calendars and campaigns.
\n
• Contribute creative ideas to improve content quality and audience engagement.
\n
• Ensure timely delivery while maintaining high production standards.
\n

Key Skills & Requirements

\n

Video Editing Skills

\n

\n
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent professional editing software.
\n
• Experience editing both long-form and short-form content.
\n
• Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, hooks, transitions, and audience retention.
\n
• Experience with subtitles, captions, motion graphics, and sound design.
\n
• Ability to create platform-specific content for YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X.
\n

\n

Design & Motion Skills

\n

\n
• Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects for motion graphics and animations.
\n
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop , Canva, or similar tools for thumbnails and social media creatives.
\n
• Understanding of typography, layout, colour theory, and visual hierarchy.
\n
• Ability to create premium, clean, and engaging visual content.
\n

• Ability to understand and simplify finance, investing, business, and educational content.

• Strong storytelling mindset with attention to detail.

• Familiarity with AI-powered editing and design tools.

• Experience managing digital assets and structured content workflows.
\n
