GM Finance & Accounts

Core Responsibilities

1. Financial Management & Controls

• Oversee the preparation and finalization of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards (IndAS / IFRS / Local GAAP).
• Monitor cash flow, optimize working capital cycles, and manage fund allocation across various engineering projects.
• Implement and strengthen rigorous internal financial controls (IFC) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

2. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

• Ensure 100% accurate and timely compliance with all direct and indirect taxation (GST, TDS, Corporate Income Tax, Customs, etc.).
• Lead and manage statutory audits, internal audits, and tax assessments smoothly.
• Keep abreast of changing fiscal laws, assessing their impact on the engineering business.

3. Project & Cost Control

• Partner with project heads to review Project Costing, Variance Analysis, and Budget vs. Actual reports.
• Review contract terms, commercial bids, and vendor agreements to mitigate financial risks.
• Oversee inventory valuation, fixed asset management, and depreciation accounting specific to plant and machinery.

4. Team Leadership & CFO Support

• Mentor, guide, and evaluate the 3-member finance team to ensure high accuracy in day-to-day accounting functions (AP/AR, payroll, invoicing).
• Assist the CFO in preparing Board presentations, annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

• Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) / CMA / MBA in Finance.
• Experience: 15+ years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial role

Technical & Soft Skills

• Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of project accounting, percentage-of-completion methods, and job costing.
• Systems: Advanced proficiency in ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally Prime) and MS Excel.
• Leadership: Proven track record of managing and upskilling small teams.
